Service changes in the Teesside area - 8 July 2012
Some of your services are changing in the Teesside area on the 8 July 2012
Service X3/X4 Middlesbrough to North Skelton/Easington
There will be only a small timetable revision to this service with some early morning and late afternoon journeys withdrawn. No changes to route or point to point running times.
Service 4/4a Redcar to Lingdale
Service 48/48a will be renumbered Service 4/4a with no changes to route or timetable for the majority of the day.
Between 7am and 10am, short journeys do not operate between Redcar & Saltburn. Two journeys per day will operate from Brotton Green Tree to Redcar Morrisons as Service 4.
Service 5/5a/5b Middlesbrough to Brotton/Easington/Whitby
There will be some fairly significant changes to these services from July. Service X5 will be withdrawn and all buses to Whitby will operate as Service 5, observing all stops en-route. These journeys will also serve Hollybush Estate in Skelton.
Short journeys to Brotton will be renumbered 5a and will operate as per current route, except they will omit Hollybush Estate in Skelton and operate a one way loop at Brotton by turning right at the North Skelton roundabout and entering Brotton from the Carlin How roundabout, heading towards Middlesbrough. Evening and some early morning journeys will be renumbered 5b and will operate as per current route to Easington, however most journeys will not serve Hollybush Estate or Skinningrove Square.
Due to these changes above, there is a significant timetable revision.
Service 6 Stockton to Stillington
There will be some changes to the timetable with the first journey from Stillington on a Monday to Friday withdrawn. Late afternoon journeys will also change, with times moving around slightly and the last journey from Stockton leaving at 17:40.
Service X6 Middlesbrough to Kingsmead
Service X6 will be withdrawn between Eaglescliffe and Stockton and will terminate at Kingsmead roundabout instead of Valley Gardens.
Service 7 Stockton to Yarm
A timetable change will result in some of the early morning and late afternoon journeys being withdrawn and the service will run to a reduced frequency at these periods. Buses will still run every 10 minutes for the majority of the day.
Service 9 Middlesbrough to Overfields
Very slight timetable change will mean that all journeys will operate 2 minutes earlier than they do now, with no change to frequency.
Service 15 Roseworth to Thornaby
North Tees Hospital will no longer be served Monday to Saturday evenings. All evening journeys will therefore operate normal route to Roseworth Shops. Buses will still serve the hospital during Sunday daytime.
Service 27/27a Netherfields to Marton
There will be a revised timetable for this service to create an every 7 minute frequency with Service 9 between Middlesbrough & Morrisons, also in combination with Service 28 & 29 to create an every 10 minute frequency between Middlesbrough & Marton.
Service 28 Middlesbrough to Lingdale
The section between Lingdale and Saltburn will be withdrawn and through buses will terminate at Lingdale every hour with the short journeys terminating at Swans Corner as currently. The service will now operate via Linthorpe Road & Easterside (exactly the same route as 27a/29) to Marton Shops, before serving Eagle Park as well.
There will be no Arriva Monday to Saturday daytime service between Borough Road and Belle Vue Shops via Marton Road.
Service 29 Middlesbrough to Stokesley
Service 29a will be withdrawn and all buses will run as Service 29. There will also be a change of route in Nunthorpe, with all buses operating via Mallowdale instead of Eagle Park (now served by 28 see above).
Service 30 Middlesbrough to Saltersgill
This service will operate via Wilson Street, Middlesbrough Town Hall & Grange Road when heading towards Saltersgill instead of leaving the bus station via Brentnall Street. Return route is unchanged.
Service 63 Redcar to Middlesbrough
There will be a minor revision to this service to create an every 5 minute frequency with the 63, 27a, 28 and 29 on the section between Middlesbrough & James Cook Hospital. Buses arriving in Middlesbrough will get more layover time to aid reliability at busy traffic times.
Service 64/64a/64b Middlesbrough to Grangetown/New Marske
From July, all 64/64a journeys will operate non-stop between Middlesbrough and South Bank, in both directions via A66, rejoining route at South Bank St Peters. Only Service 64b on Sundays and evenings will remain on current route. The running time saved on services 64/64a will be used to aid reliability between Grangetown and New Marske.
Service 71 Middlesbrough to Flatts Lane
All Service 71a journeys will be withdrawn and Arriva will no longer serve Lazenby Village. All journeys will operate half-hourly as Service 71 to the existing 71 route.
Service 81 Redcar to Stokesley
There will be a significant timetable revision to this service due to low usage of some journeys. Buses will still operate to Stokesley.
Within Guisborough, both through and short journeys will operate via Hutton Lane and The Avenue – then the short 81 will turn left into Farndale Drive and operate a one way loop to return, but the through 81 will continue to the Voyager and then turn left towards Stokesley. Both return journeys will be the same from Stokesley Road to the Voyager and back via The Avenue and Hutton Lane towards Redcar.
Service 93/X93 Middlesbrough to Scarborough
From July, all Service 93 journeys in and out of Middlesbrough will be renumbered X93 (short journeys between Scarborough and Whitby will continue to be numbered 93). There will be no change to running times or route and X93 will continues to provide an express alternative to routes 5/5a between Guisborough and Middlesbrough.
Service 91 Service 94 Service 95 Whitby Town Services
There will be some timetable amendments to these services resulting in the withdrawal of the evening journeys and some early morning journeys due to low passenger usage.
